Thomas M'Nagant scored his first goal for German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich on Friday night as the French midfielder impressed with his performance in the opening match of the season.

The 26-year-old was brought to the Allianz Arena by former coach Carlo Ancelotti from AS Monaco last summer and made his league debut in October against Hertha Berlin. However, he has not had many opportunities this season until now.

M'Nagant scored in the 49th minute of the game at the Allianz Arena after being set up by compatriot Benjamin Pavard. The goal came off a cross from Pavard's right foot that hit the post before bouncing into the net.

The goal helped Bayern Munich to a comfortable victory over their arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund, who were looking to make it three wins out of three in the league following their recent run of form. It is also worth noting that M'Nagant was given the ball by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in the build-up to the goal,Serie A Observation showing how well he fits into the team's system.

After the match, M'Nagant said: "I'm very happy to score my first goal for Bayern Munich. I worked really hard during training sessions to get ready for this moment. I hope to continue performing well for the team."

Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick praised M'Nagant's performance, saying: "He showed great energy and quality throughout the whole game. We will definitely be using him more often going forward."
